Body Pulled from the San Joaquin River

The body of a man was pulled from the San Joaquin River Saturday morning.

Fresno Police say witnesses saw the body floating in the water east of the Palm and Nees access gate just after 7 a.m.

Police say the body is of a man between 30 and 40 years of age.

The Fresno Fire Department led the recovery of the body, which police say may have been in the water for up to a week.

At this time, police are calling it a suspicious death. They say no obvious signs of trauma were found on the body when it was pulled from the river and no people have been reported missing in that area.
