Body Found In Fresno Apartment; Police Suspect Possible Murder Suicide

Police are investigating a possible murder-suicide that may have begun at a northeast Fresno apartment and ended in Southern California.

Detectives say the investigation began around 9 a.m. on Monday when Montclair, Calif. police found the body of a 40-year-old man outside a car in a parking lot.

Montclair police say the death was a suicide.

Officers discovered the car belonged to the man's wife, who lived in Fresno.

Fresno police picked up the case and arrived at the Fox Wood apartments where they found the woman dead inside of an apartment.

Melinda Parker, who lives in the complex, said she was not aware of any signs of turmoil.{}

"You would think you'd hear arguing or people running by or yelling at each other; Something that would have lead up to this," Parker said. "That is something I can't recall even months ago."

A cause of death could not be determined after an autopsy was completed on the 44-year-old woman on Tuesday morning.

There were no signs of trauma on the woman, the Fresno County Coroner said.

A Fresno Police Department spokesman said additional follow-up investigation and testing will be conducted to determine the woman's cause of death.

Fresno police say they will share its findings with the Montclair Police Department.
