Big Surprise At Fresno State Practice
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) —
Victor Dean lifted the spirits of his teammates when he showed up at Fresno State football practice Wednesday, just four days after breaking his right leg in a win over Hawaii.
The sophomore receiver was released from the hospital on Tuesday after surgery for a fractured femur. He was on crutches, and left shortly after practice began. But Dean was there long enough to have an impact.
Head coach Tim DeRuyter said the appearance was good for Dean, and for the other Fresno State players.
Quarterback Derek Carr first noticed Dean in the training room getting treatment and said the receiver was in good spirits. Carr added it was great to see Dean smiling as he begins rehab.
Doctors say Dean should be fine in five or six months.
