Big Rig Crashes On Highway 99 In Kingsburg

Traffic is flowing smoothly again following a big rig accident that closed one lane of southbound Highway 99 in the Kingsburg area Tuesday morning.

At one point, traffic was backed up for approximately three miles.

California Highway Patrol officers say a big rig ran off the highway at Mendocino Avenue around 7 a.m., hit some trees and a fog sign.

The trailer was destroyed, but the driver was not hurt.

The crash blocked one of the southbound lanes for about three hours.

Officers say there was fog in the area at the time of the crash.
