Berkeley Man Living In Dinuba Gets 2-Year Sentence For Child Pornography
TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) —
A Tulare County superior court judge on Wednesday sentenced a Berkeley man to two years in state prison for possession of child pornography.
Anthony Wayne Fredericks, 55, of Berkeley, and formerly of Dinuba, was found guilty of one count of possessing matter depicting minors engaged in sexual conduct.
Detectives served a search warrant at Fredericks' Dinuba home in September 2011. That's where detectives found a floppy disk that contained 10 images of child exploitation, according to the Tulare County District Attorney's Office.
Under California law Fredericks could not be charged with separate counts for each individual image he possessed.
Fredericks had already left the home in Dinuba before the search warrant was served, but detectives eventually located him in Las Vegas.
Fredericks, who admitted to detectives that he was moderately addicted to child pornography and was attracted to minor children, will have to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life. He was also ordered to pay $900 in fines and will be placed on parole after his prison sentence ends.
