Armed Man Gives Up After 7-Hour Standoff

A seven-hour standoff with Fresno police comes to an end, after a man armed with a shotgun finally gives himself up.

The standoff began around 12:30 Wednesday afternoon, and didn't end until nearly 8 o'clock.

Police say the man only described as Hispanic, in his 40s, fired several times through out the day and ended up blasting holes in the roof.

Police evacuated the neighborhood, as police negotiators did their best to communicate with the armed man.

In the end, he opened the door. He is now being evaluated by doctors.
