$40 Million Birthing Facility Planned For Hanford

Adventist Health announced on Thursday plans to build a $40 million Family Birth Center in Hanford.{}

The 49,000-square-foot proposed facility will be used to provide obstetrics and delivery services for families in Kings County. It will replace the current birth center at Central Valley General Hospital on Douty Street in Hanford.

As planned, the facility will include 34 beds for mothers, six neonatal intensive care beds, two operating rooms and new equipment.

Funding for the project was approved earlier this month by the Roseville, Calif.-based Adventist Health corporate board.

Project funding will be provided through private gifts and Adventist Health, requiring no public taxes, the board said.
