34 Arrested On Welfare Fraud Charges
TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) —
Thirty-four people who are accused of defrauding state welfare agencies out of $198,821 have been arrested in Tulare County, authorities said.
Investigators for the Tulare County District Attorney's Office arrested the 34 people on Saturday.
Of the 34 people arrested, nine were new welfare fraud charges. Twenty five were probation violators who failed to pay court-ordered restitution for prior welfare fraud charges.
Thirteen of the people arrested are from Tulare County's largest city, Visalia.
