$30K Baseball Championship Ring Stolen
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) —
Someone ripped off a $30,000 American League Championship ring of a Valley baseball star.
Fresno County Deputies are investigating the burglary of Matt Garza's home near Easton.
Garza is currently in Chicago getting ready for the upcoming season.
Garza's dad, Rudy, told his son about the burglary over the phone and says Matt was disappointed.
Rudy Garza says, "That ring means a lot to Mathew. I'm sure he'd wish whoever took it, you know where you took it from, please drop it back off in the mailbox, or take it to the police station. Matt would appreciate it."
Garza's name is engraved inside the ring, which has several white diamonds and one yellow diamond.
Rudy says the sentimental value to his son is priceless.
Deputies tell KMPH News a white colored pickup truck with a female passenger was seen leaving Matt's Fresno County home.
But so far, no one has been arrested.
Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call the sheriff's office at (559) 488-3111 or Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-7867.
